Chicken Marsala with Mushroom Sauce
Chicken Marsala is a classic Italian dish that almost everyone seems to love. Many people never make it at home though because they think of it as too challenging or time consuming.
This recipe is a great tasting one that is neither.
Now you can have the great taste of a restaurant quality Chicken Marsala without having to leave the house. One of the beauties of this recipe is how quick it can be prepared. Prep time is approximately 15 minutes with only another 15 minutes of cooking. Being able to prepare something like this in only 30 minutes will make it not only a treat for your family, but you as well. I have used this recipe at my home for many years and have never received a complaint. Now it can go from my home to yours.

Ingredients
• 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
• 1 tablespoon flour
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
• 1/8 teaspoon Fine Grind Black Pepper
• 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
• 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
• 1 teaspoon Corn Starch
• 1/4 cup Marsala wine
• 1/4 cup chicken broth
• 1/4 teaspoon Sweet Basil
• 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
Directions
1. • Pound chicken pieces to 1/4-inch thickness (place between 2 sheets of waxed paper before pounding).
2. • Combine flour, salt, garlic powder and pepper in a large bowl. Add chicken; coat with flour mixture.
3. • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken 8 to 10 minutes, or until done, turning once. Remove from pan.
4. • Add 1 tablespoon oil and mushrooms to skillet. Sauté 2 to 3 minutes. Mix corn starch, Marsala Wine, chicken broth, basil and onion powder; add to mushrooms. Simmer, uncovered, 2 minutes or until thickened.
5. • Serve chicken and marsala sauce over cooked linguine, if desired
